Just a little about myself....I graduated from UALR in 1998 with a BA in Marketing. Throughout my career, I have taken on many roles including Project Manager, Business Analyst, Sales Representative, Investment Broker, Real Estate Agent, and others. Some I enjoyed, some were not a great fit. I have always been technically-inclined as well as creative and have searched for a role that was a good mix of both. In the spring of 2014, I made the decision to go back to school to take classes in the UALR EIT department to gain skills in Web Development and Programming. I enjoy using technology to create something functional, and visually appealing.
Although my time at UALR may be complete, I am continuing to learn and hone my skills online in the areas of JavaScript, XML, PHP, SQL, and any other languages or applications that may be needed to make me a more well-rounded developer.
I am an avid outdoors enthusiast. My hobbies include hiking, kayaking/canoeing, biking (road and mountain biking), fishing, traveling, and when I am lucky, an occasional trip out west for some snow skiing. These hobbies led me to create my hobby site, AROwnBackyard.com, which is in my portfolio. I hope to rebuild this site to add an excursion blog and possibly a message board for users to collaborate, share information or meet up for outdoor excursions. Thank you for visiting my site!
